Overview¶
Game Finder is a mobile app to discover new video games to play, where you can search by similarity or with several filters. It uses the IGDB API as the data source.
The idea came from a problem I had back then. I used to substantially play video games, but it was hard for me to find new ones to play that I liked, especially on the platforms I had available, such as the PS3 and retro emulators. Existing solutions didn't offer the filters I needed to find something I enjoyed (the IGDB website, surprisingly, doesn't show all the filters the API offers).
Turns out, I haven't been the only one with such inconvenience. Being published on the Play Store, Game Finder has been getting recurrent downloads only through ASO, suming up thousdands of them, despite its minimal marketing effort.
